Pad test (1 hour) Test to evaluate urinary incontinence

Pad test is a non-invasive diagnostic test that is used to ascertain the existence of urinary incontinence, in men or women, by quantifying urine leakage.

The information obtained from this test may contribute to the selection of the best treatment option for each individual case, as well as to evaluate the improvements after treatment, if performed before and after said treatment.

The test is carried out according to the recommendations of the International Continence Society and lasts for one hour and fifteen minutes. It consists in weighing the amount of urine retained in a sanitary napkin after the patient has completed a set of standard exercises, distributed over an hour.

The exam will always be performed by a Physiotherapist specialized in pelvic floor dysfunction and the treatment of urinary incontinence.
