Ambulatory Uroflowmetry Urine flow test, at home

Uroflowmetry is an urological examination essential for the investigation of urinary symptoms, allowing to obtain a graph that represents the speed and pattern of urination.

The way a patient urinates is variable, so it is generally recommended to perform more than one Uroflowmetry to obtain reliable results. On the other hand, it is also common for the patient to feel inhibited when urinating in a medical environment, and may do so with more difficulty, which may also distort the result.

Ambulatory Uroflowmetry is an exam that allows the execution of several Uroflowmetries at home, in a comfortable environment.

This exam requires the purchase of a device which may be used again in the future, in case it is necessary to perform the exam again. The device currently used is suitable for patients of both sexes and also in pediatric age, when indicated.

The exam lasts for 7 days. In those 7 days, you should use the device whenever you want to urinate and have the opportunity to measure, living your normal and usual day-to-day. However, in three 24-hour periods, which do not have to be consecutive, you should use the device every time you urinate (day and night). These measurements will be checked against a bladder diary, which must be completed in the same chosen days.

At the end of the exam period, the collected data will be downloaded through a specific software at the Clinic, and a report will be prepared based on the measurements made and the elements provided through the bladder diary.
