An article, by Dr. Ricardo Pereira e Silva and Dr. José Palma dos Reis, in which a randomized trial is described, was recently published in the journal "Neurourology and Urodynamics" of the International Continence Society (ICS). It was designed to prove the effectiveness of a local anesthesia protocol in the treatment of overactive bladder with intravesical botulinum toxin injection.

This protocol, already established by clinical experience, was thus validated by the international scientific community for use in other national and international centers.
