Scrotal ultrasound Ultrasound to the testicles and scrotum

Scrotal ultrasound is also the best test to evaluate scrotal sacs and their contents, ie, the testis, epididymis and spermatic cord. It has an enormous sensitivity to pathologies of these structures (approaching 100%) without any pain or discomfort. It is a simple, fast and non-invasive examination that allows the identification and characterization of tumors, infections, hematomas, testis twists, varicoceles, hydroceles, among other pathologies.

When necessary, a complementary ecodoppler study will be performed, which will provide information on the blood supply to the testis and other scrotal structures.

This test is performed in the lying position, with a probe that abuts the skin of the genital region, where an innocuous gel has been previously applied.

It will always be performed by a Urologist doctor experienced not only in scrotal imaging, but also in the medical and surgical treatment of scrotal conditions, which gives him the best sensitivity for his correct evaluation.
