PET-CT Positron emission tomography with computed tomography

It is a diagnostic technique resulting from the evolution of scintigraphy, in which the combination of high resolution computed tomography (CT) techniques with specific radioactive markers is used.

Depending on the marker, for example glucose metabolism (PET FDG), choline (PET choline), PET-CT provides important diagnostic information in detecting germ cells tumor metastasis, as well as in the staging of prostate, bladder and kidney tumors .
